Lithium Polymer batteries have entered a new phase with high current packs becoming readily available. Now you can draw big amps from LiPo packs. Presented here are some of the Hyperion 30C/ 50C packs currently in stock and suitable for the new rules for Limited Electric Glider competition (replacing the old 7-cell electric glider rules). These packs will deliver 30C constantly, or 50C for short periods up to 20 seconds. Most motor runs in the LEG competition are 6 seconds or less, so do not stress these amazing packs - they don't even seem to get warm!

The LEG competition rules now allow any LiPo of which the product of the number of cells times the milliamp capacity comes to 6600 or less. 6600 is effectively a power limit. These packs fit the bill:

LVZ-1200/2S:
suitable for small competition gliders - save lots of weight - this pack weighs only 78g - I saved nearly 100g in my Sky Sergio and the climb was significantly better because of it - capable of up to 60A - considerably less than the maximum 6600 power limit (2 x 1200 = 2400) - cost $50

LVZ-2000/2S:
suitable for larger gliders where you need to draw up to 100A and you want to keep the weight down - the current delivering capacity is 2.0 x 50 = 100A and the power factor is 2 x 2000 = 4000 - weighs 120g and costs $84

LVZ-3200/2S:
This is the largest pack in the range that can be used with 2S - power factor is 2 x 3200 = 6400 - current capability is very high at 160A - weighs 185g and costs $136

LVZ-2000/3S:
this pack will suit you if you want to take advantage of a 3S pack - power factor is 3 x 2000 = 6000 - current delivering capability is 2.0 x 50 = 100A - ideal for lower current draw but high Watts output (100A at 11.1V = 1110W) - weighs 178g and costs $123
