Finally I have obtained the competition 2200 mAh cells. These are the low internal resistance GP 2200 NiMH cells that won the World Championships in York. They are very popular for 7-cell gliders, because they will deliver relatively high amps (note the low internal resistance), but they are much smaller and lighter than the big GP 3300. In fact they are 32mm long and 22mm diameter. They weigh 46g, so a 7-cell pack comes in at 322g - a substantial weight saving when compared to full size sub-C cells. I have them at $12.50 a cell at the moment. I am working to try to obtain a lower price, but at least they are available - buy some now and you will be ready for the next 7-cell glider competition!
