| A competition LRK (outrunner) brushless motor for 6-9 cells (or 2-3 LiPo). This motor has been specifically produced for the Ausralian 7-cell glider competition. It gives amazing performance for an outrunner on 7 high-amp cells and large props.
Props from 12x6 to 15x10 may be used depending on how hard you want to push the motor. On a large prop, the 3025-6 matches the performance of a Hacker B40/6L geared up to 80A - and yet it weighs 40g less and costs 40% of the price of a Hacker. Tests conducted in Australia indicate that this motor will pull 65A on a 13x7" prop from 7 x GP2200 cells. A Graupner 14x9.5" prop on 7 high-amp cells gives 6,495 rpm. A 16x8" prop pulls 92A. A 15x10" prop pulls 100A at 68% efficiency. Test flights have been made with an Omega. In 1.8m configuration the Omega climbed at nearly 20m/second to heights of over 100m in 6 seconds. In 2.5m configuration the Omega climbed at 14m/second and the glide performance was markedly improved. These tests were conducted with GP2200 cells and a Hyperion 80A OPTO controller. The aircraft weighed in at 1300g in 1.8m format, and yes, the motor fitted in to the slender nose (see photos below). This motor is also ideally suited to 1.4m to 1.6m hotliners with an 11x8" propeller and 7-9 cells. Price: $114 |
