Bingo electric glider

Control surfaces include ailerons (top hinged), flaps (bottom hinged) and elevator/rudder on a V-tail (centre-hinged). six micro or mini servos are required - the servo bays are pre-formed.

The three-piece, thinned RG-15 section wing has a kevlar/carbon D-box leading edge with the familiar hounds-tooth weave. The balsa ribs are capped with carbon and the trailing edge is a thin strip of very rigid carbon.

The symmetrical section tailplane also has balsa ribs capped with carbon and a thin carbon trailing edge. The tail is removable for easy transporting.

The pod and nose cone is painted carbon, and the tail boom is a carbon tube with tailplane tubes already installed.

A host of power options are available, but for competition use, the Bingo would perform very well with a Scorpion 3026-8 and 2S or a Scorpion 3026-10 on 3S or a Hyperion 3025/6 and 7 x GP-3300 or 4300 cells.

The Bingo was the subject of a very positive review in the October 2006 edition of QEFI magazine. The reviewer found the model to be a very competent sport and competition machine. It can cover large areas of the sky to find lift, and the flaps aid performance (whether in speed setting to search for lift, or in thermal setting to work the lift). Experienced fliers, he said, will enjoy the amount of performance available from this airframe. The reviewer's power train was a Kontronik Fun 480-33 with a 4.2:1 gearbox - Hacker B40-8L also recommended.
