If you are looking for a slow flying, graceful aircraft - ideal as a trainer - the Butterfly is for you!

The Butterfly is like a glider with wheels - but it hearkens back to a bygone era when floaters were all the go in the glider realm - some of you may remember the CraftAir Drifter and Windrifter, very popular gliders in their time. They had thick, built-up wings with a high-lift wing section and turbulator spars on the leading edge of the wing. Well, the Butterfly is derived from the Windrifter - it is like a Windrifter with a box fuselage (you can attach any kind of motor to the firewall) and wheels.

Take off the ground, stooge around under low power, catch a thermal or two, do a bit of gliding and land back on the strip. That is the beauty of the Butterfly.

The Butterfly also introduces a new idea - you build it yourself. It contains all the wood, hardware, plans and instructions that you need. I supplied one recently to a model flier who builds his own aircraft and he gave the contents of the kit the thumbs up - it is a good kit!

Any motor could be used, for example a Scorpion 3008-1090 with a Hyperion 35A controller OR a Scorpion 3014-830 with a Hyperion 45A controller would be suitable.
