| This is a lightweight electric glider with ailerons and FLAPS. This is what is needed for those accurate landings required in Limited Electric Glider competitions. This is what the original Omega lacked.
The Pulsar 2008 - the new, resdesigned 2008 version - is made in the Ukraine by free flight modellers who know how to build strong and light. The total weight of this kit is 320g. That's right, only 320g!! And that's for a 2.0m glider! The wing is a three-piece unit of carbon construction with balsa ribs capped with carbon strip, and already covered in Oracover Lite. The leading edge is all carbon weave cloth back to the spar. The trailing edge is a thin strip of carbon. The joiners are alloy rods. The wing section is an AG5 - thin (fast climb) and slightly undercambered (great glide). The wing is mounted on a fuselage pylon to allow a single flap in the centre panel of the wing, operated by one servo. The fuselage pod is made from carbon and painted white. There is a removable nose cone which carries the battery pack on a tray. The fibreglass nose former is already fitted and strengthened. The tail boom is a rolled carbon tube. The tailplane and fin bolt on (bolts supplied). Other accessories include control horns and carbon fairings for aileron and flap servos. The Pulsar 2008 can pack flat in a box for transport or storage. Controls are ailerons (two servos), flaps (one servo), elevator and rudder. Sub-micro servos like the JR-375 or the Dymond D60 or the Dymond 47 are recommended. The Hyperion G2213 or G2220 would be an ideal motor, coupled to GP-1300 cells . I am now using a Hyperion LVZ-1200/2S LiPo pack with a glider like this. A Kontronic Fun geared 400 or 480, or a geared Hacker B20, would also suit. For direct drive, a small Parkzone motor would suit. For a brushed motor, a Speed 480 with MP-Jet gearbox would fly this aircraft very well, and then you could use a lightweight Schulze controller for brushed motors. Wingspan - 2000mm I am now an agent for all Star flight kits made in Russia. See the Star Flight web site for all the possibilities - click this link. |
