The ParkZone Radian is a 2m foamy electric glider that has become a great hit. I have seen people learn to fly on it and I have seen people fly it in serious competition. In fact, Jamie Nancarrow came 6th in LEG at the Sailplane Expo in 2009 flying a standard Radian.

Some time ago, the South Australians implemented a one-design electric glider fun event every month in Victoria Park, Adelaide using the stock-standard Radian and it has been immensely popular. Richard Solomon bought a swag of Radians and instituted a one-class event at Picton, which was so popular it has been repeated several times and was even taken up by the Heathcote Soaring League. In Richard's event, pilots are supplied with a fully set-up Radian glider and Spektrum 2.4 GHz radio - they simply walk to the flight line and pick up the gear already supplied and fly. It speaks volumes for the glider if anyone can just pick it up and fly it!

The Radian event has become so popular that the AEFA are offering a Radian event at the National Rally to be held at the Barossa Valley club field, Easter 2010. You can either bring your own stock-standard Radian and join in the event, or use one of Richard Solomon's Radians that he is kindly supplying, sponsored by his dental practice, Harris Park Dental Care.

There are several reasons why you should think about equipping yourself with a Radian:
• It has a proven performance record
• It is easy to fly - good for learning
• You can join in the one-class Radian glider events if you want to
• It is incredibly good value - you can either buy one fully equipped with everything you need to fly it including a 2.4 GHz radio*, or you can buy one that is equipped except for radio (comes with servos), battery and charger.
• Wings plug in and make it easy to transport
