Schulze Alpha 8 Rx
At last someone has produced a full range, high-tech, 8 channel receiver in a tiny package (which works with all brands of FM transmitter) - just for you and me to fly electrics!! The Schulze Alpha 835 is the receiver especially designed for electric fliers. It has better reception characteristics than any single conversion receiver I know!

The Schulze Alpha 8 combines IPD technology with tiny size - and adds new features to boot. ASC (Automatic Signal-strength Control) automatically regulates the amplification of signals received to ensure optimum reception at close range and long range. The glider guys in South Australia have fitted this receiver to all-carbon moulded gliders and solved their reception problems - they are rock solid at the limits of visibility!

Narrow band filters ensure safe operation at 10 kHz spacing - you will have no problems flying with club-mates on adjacent channels (eg. Ch.625 with Ch.626).

Schulze calls the IPD feature APDR or digital post processing. Digital technology is applied to signal filtering to replace an invalid signal with the previous valid one (similar to PCM). Servo jittering is greatly reduced. If interference persists, the receiver switches off the servo signals completely until a new valid signal is received. That describes APD, but Schulze goes further and installs APDR - the R stands for signal restoration. It can generate either the actual transmitted signal, or a signal close to the original signal, if a glitch is received (say, by an electric motor).

One problem - you could be receiving lots of glitches from your electric motor and never know. Schulze has included a glitch counter in his receiver which tells you how many glitches you have received. An LED blinks to let you know.

This all sounds great, and Schulze is known for superlative and advanced technology, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Ray Pike was flying a 24 cell electric helicopter with a Multiplex IPD receiver, but experiencing glitches. Ray has now tried two of these Schulze receivers, and the glitches completely disppeared!!
